Bin Sealing & Waterproofing.
Done right.
Grain bin foundations are exposed to ground moisture, freeze-thaw, and rodents that can chew their way under unprotected concrete. Bin sealing applies an asphalt-based waterproof membrane around the perimeter of the bin pad, sealing the foundation from below-ground moisture and closing the gap rodents use to get under your stored grain.
Why it matters
A leaky bin foundation lets ground moisture wick up into stored grain. Damp grain at the bottom of a bin spoils, becomes a hot spot, and risks the whole bin going off-condition. The cost of sealing is small compared to the cost of one bin of crusted, condemned grain.
How we do it
We dig a narrow trench around the perimeter of the existing foundation, apply asphalt-based waterproof membrane against the concrete, and backfill. Where the existing pad has cracked or settled, we address that first. The whole perimeter becomes a sealed envelope.
